As part of our extensive PSHE programme our Year 7 students are taking part in Drop-Down lessons where they cover four topics within the scope of our Safer Internet Day Focus Week.

All of or PSHE provision is based on the PSHE Association guidance and coves topics as broad as fostering to bereavement, gambling to gangs, and environmentalism to sexual health.

As well as dedicated lessons, tutor time activities and assemblies, students also enjoy lessons slotted in as a replacement to ‘normal’ lesson to cover set themes and project’s.

Each Year 7 student will take part in specialist sessions on Body Image, Positive Relationships , Harmful Online Behaviours and Information Sharing.

Helen Barratt, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Our PSHE provision is very much tied into our whole-school approach to educating the whole child and preparing our students not just for the exam hall but also modern life. These sessions tap into topics hugely pertinent to this age group and helps prepare them to negotiate the changes ahead as they work their way through their teenage years.”
