Last term, our Year 7 students competed in the ‘Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge’.
Following their brilliant successes, a select group of our students, achieving scores in the top 10% nationally, were invited to take part in the ‘Oxford University Computing Challenge 2023.’ This invitation-only challenge meant students had to create programmed solutions to computational thinking problems under timed conditions.
These students took part in the challenge after working hard in preparing for the tough tasks that awaited them.
The official results have now been released and every student who took part has received a certificate in recognition of their efforts. Special congratulations to Zachary DuGuay who earned a ‘Merit Award’ – an exceptional accomplishment considering those taking part had already qualified in the top 10% nationally.
Gemma Harris, Head of ICT, said: “This achievement highlights the dedication and hard work during the preparations for the competition which truly paid off, and they should be very proud of their success. Well done to all the participants, and we look forward to celebrating more successes in the future.”
