Our Under 15s girls football team – made up of Year 9s and 10s – played their first league game against Nether Stowe.

As it was their first game together, they found it hard to find a rhythm as a team to begin with, but they soon persevered and got through it.

By half time the score was 0-0 and the half-time team talk focused on the weakness that could be swiftly addressed and from this the girls went back on the pitch and were a completely different team. They all became a lot more confident, with wingers running up and down the pitch, and the midfielders winning their individual battles.

There were 2 beautiful goals were scored by Freya Milligan and another outstanding goal – after winning in a 1v1 battle – by Brogan Crawford. Unfortunately, we conceded a late goal in the last 10 minutes but it did not detract from a superb second half.

Hollie Wright team coach, said: “The Player of the Match was Freya Milligan for contining to persist with many shots on target and eventually two great finishes. The next game in Tuesday 5th December away at EDA so there is time to step up some more there.”
