The U13’s fought their way through a bitterly cold evening and took on King Edwards. We were able to take 3 teams due to such high interest in hockey at the Friary – and could even have had 4 teams had one or two external commitments not got in the way.

It was to prove a successful evening with all teams made it onto the score sheet, with Josh Hunt, Harry Henshall and Elliot Trent firing home the goals.

Congratulations to Elliot Trent (Y7) for making his debut in the squad. Likewise, to Ava Sumpter (Y7) for taking on the responsibility of the girls goalkeeper for upcoming matches – she has shown great passion for the game and clearly enjoys her hockey.

We must also send our get well wishes to Anand Sihota (Y8) who picked up a facial injury during the tournament – we wish you a speedy recovery – though it did get you out of the team photo!

Sam Foster, Head of Performance & Technologies, said: “As we near the end of the hockey fixtures for the Christmas break, team coach Ms Fallows wanted to thank the players and their dedication to all fixtures and participation in weekly training sessions. We are looking forward to the next run of fixtures in January.”
