We were delighted to hear about the on-going success of a recent Year 11 departee, Olivia Thomas, who took on an apprenticeship with Busy Bees in Lichfield from September 2023.
Olivia was a fantastic Friary student who achieved excellent grades – on average she was one above target in every course. She had all the options available to her – jobs, Sixth Forms, college and university – but we were delighted for her taking the apprenticeship as we knew that it was what she really wanted to do.
A recent BBC Article included a reference and photo of Olivia and she also appeared on BBC Midlands News being interviewed about her apprenticeship.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are very active in encouraging the apprenticeship route and Olivia is just one of many success stories. She was a wonderful student, and would have done wonderfully whatever path she had chosen, but we are thrilled she is thriving and making a difference in our local community.”
