A fanstastic first for some players with this tournament and even newcomers got themselevs on the score sheet – big shout out to Ollie Anderson (Y7).

The Friary played against both A & B teams and even battled each other in a Friary v Friary showdown with the A team winning the tournament overall.

The tournament saw an amazing 9 goals in total, with the girls leading the score board. Well done to Esme Morris and Isabel Bridges for being top goalscorers.

The boys played some great tactical hockey – applying constant pressure on the opposition’s defence – but despite their efforts, they struggled to stop the Friary’s shots on goal.

Another newcomer Ryan Peck stood out from the crowd and made some lovely long balls through the King Edwards midfield, allowing the Friary strikers to send the ball into the back of the goal.

Player of tournament was awarded to Harry Henshall (Y7) for his sheer determination and tactical awareness of what was expected of him. He really did run his legs off and his support for his team mates was superb.

Kim Fallows, head coach, said: “I could write a report for every player this evening due to their passion and motivation to perform well and impress their coach. There was some lovely hockey played and I look forward to the next competition’.
