Our Year 9 Enterprise Club are getting a taste of business world by brainstorming potential business ideas, thinking like entrepreneurs and getting ready to take risks in preparation to launch their small businesses.
The club is connected to the Y9 Pathways process so student can get a flavour of the BTEC Enterprise course they might choose to study in Year 10. We run those course as it brings a practical emphasis, includes links with local businesses, and leaders to clear progression routes in both our Sixth Form and local colleges. Elsewhere, the club provides an insight in the demands and rigours of the business world, and is just one part of our wider provision prepare our students for adult Ife.
Faizah Shabir, Enterprise teacher, said: “The students always come up with some fantastic ideas and work hard to raise as much revenue as they can. We are keen to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit in our students and to help them to see the possibilities before them as they begin to look towards adult working life.”
