Our Health & Social Care students benefit from the wonderful support of The Spire Care Home in Lichfield who work with our students to introduce them to the care sector and to enable them to learn how they theory works in day-to-day provision.
A group of our Key Stage Four BTEC Health & Social Care students volunteered their time after school to visit the care home and undertake Halloween activities with the residents.
This included making cards, decorations and paper chains.
Trudi Simkiss, Health & Social Care teacher and visit lead, said: “The students were amazing in interacting with the residents and even helped decorate the home with the items they created and made. The entertainment manager is always complimentary of our students and says how polite and well they do with the residents. It also teaches our student a great deal which support both their course development but also their perspectives on life and growing old.”
