As a school we acquired free sanitary products that we are happy to distribute to students and even wider families wherever required.
The products include sanitary towels, tampons and period pants.
As well as handing them out for home use, we also keep a stock in school so that girls who require assistance know they will be looked after.
Lisa Pratt, School Manager, said: “Any students who wish to receive these products for themselves, or for their families, can approach Student Support and collect these products the end of the day. Naturally, although there is nothing to be ashamed about, we can be entirely discrete about this. We read about period poverty in the media and we are here to ensure that we do all we can to ensure no Friary children or families suffer in this way.”
