Our Inter-House Key Stage 3 Independent Learning Quiz kicked-off with tutor groups battling it out to demonstrate their research and knowledge of Mahatma Gandhi.

Students are guided by their tutors during the week to develop their independent learning and research skills in order to prepare for 10 quiz questions about the topic.

This week’s quiz was won by the team from 9D1 (Lily McRobinson, Callie Meakin and Thomas Curry) who scored an impressive 9 out of 10 correct answers.

We had two joint second place teams who both scored 8 points each: 7D2 (Amelia Murphy, Ada Phillips and Robyn Morley-Sleigh) and 9S1 (Sam Thackerberry, Josh Hill and Max Thomas).

Sam Sullivan, Assistant Headteacher, said: “All teams showed excellent knowledge of the topic. They talked about how information from their tutor activities and House assemblies had helped to deepen their understanding of Gandhi, recognising not only his good works but also the flaws in his character. Well done to everyone who took part.”
