As a school we are very proactive in pushing the apprenticeship route and work hard to relay options, provide experiences, and to liaise with students, parents, business and apprenticeship providers to ensure our students get the full picture as they make their way in life.
This commitment includes partners meeting with parents at Partnership Evening, drop-in visits by providers like Ask Apprenticeships, special assemblies and tutor times, targeted careers talks, and work placement experiences and visits.
Following the Year 11 results we are delighted to report that a number of our students have secured successful apprenticeship placements which we think is fantastic for them. These include:
* Jayden Metcalfe – Level 3 Scholarship with Extended Sports Diploma with Lichfield Academy
* Lucy Millerchip – JCB Level 3 Apprenticeship – Materials Technician
* Evie Preece – Pure Hair Spa Hairdressing Apprenticeship
* Thomas Roberts – Scholarship Sports BTEC Lichfield Academy
* Toby Samson – West Midland Vans Business Apprenticeship
* Olivia Thomas – Education Apprenticeship with Busy Bees Nursery (Early Years)
Helen Barratt, Assistant Headteacher and Careers Leader, said: “For many students the opportunity to earn a wage and get on-the-job training is a real preference and with the quality of many apprenticeships and the rising costs of university education it is easy to say why. We are very thorough is pushing the apprenticeship route and this range of apprenticeships – from local employers to international companies – reflects a varied workforce that out students are well-equipped to enter. We are looking forward to having how they are getting on and using these students as role models for younger children thinking of going the same way.”
