The Friary staff annual cricket game ends with a 7 wicket win.

King Edwards staff batted first and started very well. However, some great spin bowling from Mr Simpson and Mr Millward kept the score down and took some key wickets. Mr Vandeheuvel, Mr Britton, Mr Thorpe and Mr Foster added more wickets to reduce King Edwards to 77/8 off their 20 overs.

It took only 12 overs for the Friary staff to knock off the winning runs thanks to Mr Foster (11), Mr Britton (35 not out) and Mr Sleigh (26 not out). However, the star moment of the match was an unusually athletic moment from Mr Perry in in taking a tough catch.

Jamie Sleigh, team captain, said: “A great win and good to see all staff enjoying an end of term game of cricket. Huge thanks to King Edwards for fitting the game into a busy end of term.”
