Our Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award group ended the term trekking across Derbyshire as part of their final assessments for the accreditation.
Having stared in Hope, (where the weather was more hopeless), the group camped out near Ladybower Reservoir and near the top of Winnat’s Pass in Castleton.
The walk was certainly challenging with desperate weather, rain and wind buffeting the hikers and unsettling the camp preparations.
Judith Williamson, Duke of Edinburgh Award Co-Ordinator, said: “The weather made this a tough venture but the students kept their spirits up, kept putting one foot in front of the other, and kept their eyes on the goal which ended with all of them successfully achieving accreditation. There was every reason to feel proud with their efforts.”
