Jamie Sleigh, Head of Seward House said:
“Just like that, the school year has gone… but a successful one of that. This year has been full of positives, in the classroom, out of the classroom and in house competitions. My Seward Year 7’s settled in excellently and have impressed around school, displaying the two House Ethics- Respect and Team Work. Our House Ethics have been on show for all other students to see and I’m so proud to oversee the fantastic students we have in Seward House.
This summer assembly was a time to look back on the year they’ve had, the rewards they’ve been part of and to reflect on the year as a whole and start to set targets for the next academic year. Being the best-behaved house, a title that should not be taken lightly, a huge majority of Seward students are respectful, follow instructions and are working hard to achieve great grades by the end of year 11. Raising £1709.93 for a great local charity, Midlands Air Ambulance was another big highlight, with all Seward students working together, leading fund-raising events and giving their all to raise a huge amount of money for a great cause.
To win the House Trophy was another achievement to be rewarded, it was a delight to see them all on rewards day, enjoying with friends and seeing them understand their hard work around school has been acknowledged. The third trophy we won this academic year is the Debating Trophy, a trophy where students from all years have contributed to. The commitment to the debate competitions in form time has been excellent and those students who were a part of this years, will look to pass on their skills to next year’s debaters.
It’s time to rest up for six weeks and be ready to keep working hard, we aim to continue our high standards and look to have another successful year.”
