Our latest school show saw Year 7-9 students tread the boards to deliver ‘Mary Poppins’ and the standard was fantastic.

The storyline relays when Jane (Anna Bowen-Whittles) and Michael (Oliver Riley), the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins (Olivia Dobson). Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert (Tommy Baines), the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny’s sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents (Alex Meredith & Rose Walker).

The show played to three nights of busy audiences and a packed out last night and the state management, lighting, microphones, and choreography saw numerous student play a leading role in pulling the whole production together.

The next school show takes place at the end of the Autumn Term and the big reveal on what it will be will come early in the new term.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The show was wonderful and to see the huge cast and back-stage crew pulling together was great. The cast who were confident, assured and hugely enthusiastic in their delivery. The quality of the whole show was exemplary and it just whets the appetite for what comes next.”
