Against approaching 20 secondary schools, Friary students came out tops in the Cannock & District Athletics Competition Finals for Year 7-9 students.
There were a string of superb performances over multiple meets and in the final reckoning The Friary came out on top at the Aldersley Stadium.
There were plenty of winners but it was every point totting up which saw out school come out on top.
Sam Foster, Head of Performance & Technologies, said: “The students and staff have shown great commitment, and no lack of talent, to compete at all levels and emerge victorious. There were so many individuals who could be singled out for their excellence but the over-riding message is that the whole team pulling together made the difference. Certainly, there is some amazing talent in all of the schools involved and it was a pleasure to watch the competition.”
