There were plenty of outstanding performance in the latest round of the regional athletics competitions even with the hit conditions taking their toll.

Amongst a sea of stand-out performances by Year 8 and Year 7 students, highlights included:  Alfie Bedlow (Y8) (an unbelievable run and time in 1500m) – 1st in 1500m; Olli Burnside (Y8) – 1st in 800m; Ellie Irvine (Y8) – 1st in High Jump; Fraser Neenan (Y8) – 1st in Javelin; Brogan Crawford (Y8) – 4th in 800m and 3rd in High Jump; Olivia Flint (Y8) – 4th in 1500m; Harrison Brookes (Y8) – 2nd in 800m and Olly Blades (Y7) – 3rd in Javelin.

Jamie Sleigh, team coach, said: “Some of the times / positions are still to be confirmed due to number of heats for each event but there were some amazing performances. Next week sees Year 7, 8 and 9 take part in the main Athletics Championships at Aldersley. Well done to all students involved so far!”
