Our 36 students undertaking their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme spent the weekend around the White Peak and trekked from Alstonefield to Waterhouses.
The walk took them down into Dovedale to Hulme End and then down the Manifold trail. Their campcraft was excellent after teaching in school and they managed a route of about 14km each day in the hot sunshine.
Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “It has been another incredibly busy year for our Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme with our staff taking large numbers through. Many of these Bronze students will move onto Silver and Gold in the years ahead and having been successful with funding bids and straining up more staff as team leaders we are well-equipped to see our offer only improve.“
