The PTFA Comedy Night was a rip-roaring success with as parents and friends of the school had an evening of laughter in the school theatre.

The event was again run in conjunction with local comedian Chris Purchase, from Laughter House Comedy, and saw Chris compere the show and introduce three fantastic comedians.

The comedians included Shazia Mirza, Harriet Dyer and Phil Padgett. The three comedians have a string of TV, radio and comedy club appearqances – you can search them out on Youtube but we’ll save giving you the links as the jokes are very much over-18. ?

Alongside the comedians, there was a barbecue and bar provided by our wonderful PTFA.

We also staged a fund-raising raffle and the winning ticket turned out to belong to our Headteacher – a very popular winner! ? Amidst all the boos, the £90 cash prize was donated back to the PTFA so more funds raised there.

Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “Everyone really enjoyed the evening and we’ll look to do the same event next year as another PTFA annual event. In these difficult funding times all the monies we raise make a real difference and provide things that otherwise would be lost to our students. We can only say all those who attended – and laughed a lot – are fantastic.”.
