We are delighted to report that our school has been nominated for the Community Award at the British Dyslexia Association.
The nomination stems from our award-winning work with our dyslexic students and families and builds on the Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark that our school recently achieved.
This Quality Mark is awarded by the British Dyslexia Association and is only allocated to schools which provide an exceptional quality of education for dyslexia children.
The Community Award is for a group or organisation that has improved the quality of life for those with dyslexia and other co-occurring differences in their community. The award exemplifies what can be achieved when we work together.
Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said “We are delighted to receive this national nomination. We take great pride in our dyslexic students and take the approach that dyslexia is not a barrier to success but simply a hurdle that can be overcome with the correct balance of challenge and support. Regardless of the final result, the real win for us is that an organisation as respected as the British Dyslexia Association says we are doing a great job for our students – this is all the plaudits we need.”
