Friary won 4-1 against Nether Stowe to go through to a cup semi final tie with King Edwards.

Our Year 10 team started bright and created some good chances. Friary went 1-0 up when captain Josh Evans slotted the ball home after 10 minutes. However, the team were unable to go further ahead after missing some good chances.

Into the second half, Nether Stowe scored to make it 1-1 and make it an exciting final 15 minutes.

Nonetheless, our Year 10s responded well to the equaliser and up popped Josh Evans again with a fabulous free kick to make it 2-1.

Evan Wynne won a penalty after a great run, before getting and slotting the penalty into the bottom right corner.

Nathon Brickliffe sealed the win with an excellent individual goal running from the half way line, taking on two defenders, and scoring to make it 4-1.

Jamie Sleigh, team coach, said: “Well done to all the team. Player man of the match goes to Josh Evans for his two goals and good attacking play.”
