The Year 8 Netball team took part in their last fixture of the year, and we saved the best till last in the Cannock and District tournament which was a chance to play a range of schools from the local area.
We arrived nervous but optimistic after our first win a few weeks back, but with the sun-shining, it was great to get the tournament got underway.
First up we played Hart, and we calmly took advantage of their mistakes, resulting in a superb 3-0 win. Next came Nether Stowe, where we conceded early on but came back and won 4-2.
As the tournament progressed there were ups and downs but the team kept scoring, continually fought their way through, and finished joint 6th in the county. The experience was beneficial, and the team enjoyed the opportunity to play lots of Netball.
Hollie Wright, team coach, said: “The netball is now over for this year, but rounders makes a return after Easter, and we would encourage all girls to come out to train on Thursdays after school on the field. Our girls sports have been fantastic this year and there is still time to taste further success.”
