There is a lot of press reports of low attendance in schools and tales of ‘ghost children’ missing out on the education which will open so many doors for them in later life.

However this week, amidst all the House celebrations, we are also doing our attendance Awards. All students with 100% attendance get put into a prize draw and others, such as those who were struggling but have responded to precise targets being set for them, get a shot at it too.

This particular award seeing a crazy golf course and next term we are looking at clay pigeon shooting.

Richard Barnett-Richards, Assistant Headteacher, said: ”Coming onto school is perhaps the key factor in determining whether a student achieves their best in their studies so rewards like this serve an important purpose in setting the right tone, ethos and commitment.”
