Our Year 9 Pathways Evening was well attended by parents as they picked up all the necessary information to help their children make their Pathways decisions which map out their courses for the end of Year 11.

There are core qualifications that everyone has to take – such as English, Maths and Science – as well as core National Curriculum subjects such as PE and ICT.

Elsewhere, there are a wide range of academic and vocational courses to choose from and decisions are structured within the parameters of our different Pathways.

Our Pathways process gives students a wide range of subject options – reaching a total of 11 qualifications – which means that our students get greater range of subjects than the national average

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “Our Pathways process maps our personalised programmes for each individual student so that each of them is in a position to get the very best put of themselves. It is vital to us to set students up on the right routes from the off so that by the time they reach the end of Year 11 they are assured of getting good qualifications and have clear and realistic destinations in mid for post-Year 11. By combining aspirations with all the evidence we have, we can usually get this right.”
