As part of our Focus Week on International Women’s Day we were visited by Staffordshire Police who talked tom girls about community safety.

With domestic abuse and violence against women and girls two of the big community priorities for Lichfield District Council, we are very proactive in preparing our girls for the world they are growing into.

The police came into the school to see our girls who were provided with advice and information to help prepare them to be safe as they go out and about in our community.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “Unfortunately, our community and the life our girls will face, will include bad bits and ugly bits – along with plenty of good and amazing bits – and this week we have been preparing both boys and girls for it. The treatment of females in our country – and local community – has a lot to improve on, but by educating everyone in our school on how they can contribute, we hope we can make sure that further local plans do not have to prioritise abuse and aggression towards women.”
