Our support for our Year 11s continues as they finish their last mocks and head every closer to the final Summer exams. A big part of this is the booster sessions we put in after-school, as well as on Saturdays and through the Eater Break.
Saturday Schools
These Saturday Schools are voluntary – but occasionally we might strongly suggest to a parent that their child attends. They run between 9.30-11.30am, are non-uniform, and students sign in on arrival for the full session before being guided off-site at the end of the session.
Our Saturday Schools are usually subject-specific and are mapped out for the half-term in advance. The second half of the Easter Term will see the following Saturday Schools:
Saturday 11 March | Y11 GCSE Music |
Saturday 18 March | Y11 GCSE French |
Saturday 25 March | Y11 GCSE Religious Education (RE) |
Holiday Schools
Furthermore, our Holiday Schools will be running in the Easter and May Holidays.
These sessions run similar to Saturday School but are scheduled throughout the week and are divided into AM / PM blocks.
Again, they are voluntary (unless directed), see no uniform, and see the same singing in and out arrangements.
The forthcoming Easter Holidays see the following sessions:
Monday 3 April | 9.30-11.30am | Y11 CTEC Performing Arts |
Monday 3 April | 9.30-11.30am | Y11 GCSE Music |
Monday 3 April | 12.30-14.30pm | Y11 GCSE Religious Education (RE) |
Wednesday 5 April | 9.30-11.30am | Y11 GCSE French |

Bex Oldfield, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Lour Yea 11s have huge potential and we are throwing the kitchen sink at them in terms of support and backing. There have been lots of success stories in the Mocks, and for those that have found it tougher we are working to get the balance of challenge and support to steer then forwards. Exam results are not everything, but they are important to long-term well-being, so these specific sessions, as well as our wider support, is integral too all we do.”
