As part of our raising aspirations programme, today a group of Year 11 students visited South Staffordshire College Rodbaston Campus to spend time on site and look at what’s on offer for further education in great detail.
Students that had expressed interest in courses on offer at Rodbaston College were extremely impressed with the campus throughout their tour and felt privileged to have the opportunity to step into the various areas to see the practical workshops in real time as students carried out their work on campus.
The Year 11 students visited many parts of the campus and spoke to tutors across the following areas; Animal Care & Management, Agricultural Engineering, Bricklaying, Car Mechanics and Motor Vehicle, Carpentry, Plumbing, Equine, Dog Grooming and Construction Multi skill courses, all of which were in a workshop practical class room settings. The trip is aimed at helping our students realise their options and to give them the opportunity to picture themselves in this setting. This potentially is a exciting start for some of our Year 11 leavers this year and full support, advice and guidance will be given to students applying and embark on their dream career path.
