We had not far off 100 quizzers at The Friary PTFA Quiz at the school – all using their brains in the spirit of raising crucial funds for school computers and wider facilities.

The competition saw round on King Charles, UK Roads, General Knowledge, Music, and more besides.

In addition, there was a fish’n chips supper part-way through the evening to keep the energy levels going.

The winning team was The Fradley Bears – the strongest team in recent years – though they only squeaked it by a 2-point margin.

Sam Sullivan, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Huge thanks to all the parents and staff who came along to support the event – and of course our wonderful PTFA for preparing the questions, running the event, managing one of the world biggest chip delivery, and hauling in the funds throughout the night. It was a great event, lots of laughter, and with the next big event bring our Stand-Up Comedy Night there is more fun on the way.”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “My team and I came a disappointing 7th – so ‘Must Do Better’ – but we are blessed with some amazingly supportive parents, who back the school 100%, and whose PTFA work means the schools gets resources that children would otherwise miss out on. We do have a deficit in terms of parents in Years 7-9 getting involved and for future-proofing we need them to be involved. If you can chip in – however great or small – then your child, everyone else’s child, and everyone at our school would be very grateful.”
