Our annual Battle of the Bands Night sees student bands rock up and play music selected from a golden decade with the winners performing at Lichfield’s The Fuse Festival.
This is an evening of real quality and sees students from all the Year groups hone their stagecraft and remind everyone of the great sings form the selected decade – this year it will be the 2010s.
The songs being performed are wide and varied but include Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’, The Arctic Monkey’s ‘R U Mine ?’, The Foo Fighters’ ‘Run, Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away’ and OneRepublic’s ‘Counting Stars’.
Jon Hood, Head of Music, said: “This is also a fantastic night and the chance to play at local music festivals for the winners – as well as other top performers – is a real incentive to every participant. This is about getting experience, but has even gone as far as getting the break to perform at a level that begins to open doors for later life.”
