Recently, our Head of Religious Education, Kelly Gabbitass, met with Sarah Dennis, the Lead of RE at Chadsmead Primary Academy to discuss the upcoming changes to the locally agreed syllabus and how the KS2 curriculum feeds into our KS3 RE curriculum.
Sarah Dennis is a member of the Standard Advisory Council for RE (SACRE) and has attended the National Symposium for RE so has a wealth of knowledge.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “This work is part of our wide curriculum work as we seek to support the transition and flow of our subject curriculums. It is vital all primary and secondary schools better understand the content and skills coverage in each’s provision. The more we can make it a seamless progression, the better the learning, enjoyment and confidence of our students.”
Kelly Gabbitas, Head of Religious Education, added: “The work of Sarah and Chadsmead was impressive and we will continue to keep in touch in order to share ideas and good practice so that our students receive good quality RE”.
