Each half-term a selection of our school governors meet with students to see how they are getting on and to offer guidance to them, as well as their families, about how things can improve or simply just to say ‘well done’ and ‘thank you’.

Those students who are under-performing, or are having difficulties meet with governors in these meetings. This offers guidance, support, direction, and at times a line in the sand in terms of the need for improvement.

Conversely, the last meeting saw six Year 11 students who are performing superbly well meet with governors and receive the plaudits they well-deserved. The students were Ellie Billingham, Emily Clarkson, Alfie Hartley, Harvey Hewkin, Ava Niven and Emily Skermer.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We have a diverse and skilled Governing Body who well recognise the qualities needed in a superb school. They have a diverse background, many of them have, or have seen their children, go through the school, whilst others have wider professional expertise which only adds to our provision. In the Governor Student Panel their interventions can make a huge difference and they also mean our governors have a firm handle on the day-to-day experiences of learning at our school.“
