Our extensive extra-curricular programme had had its usual termly update and though further activities come up with one-off sporting events, Focus Week activities, guest speakers, and more besides, the main overview programme gives a broad idea of all that is going on.
This term will see plenty of sporting clubs and fixtures – not just in break-times – but also after-school. This includes football, netball, hockey, riugby and badminton.
Elsewhere, we have two show performance this term with student-led music performances in ‘Battle of the Bands’ (Tuesday 14 February) and the wider variety performances in ‘Encore’ (Wednesday 29 March – Friday 31 March). These are in addition to the wide-ranging Music and Drama-related clubs which run through the term.
Academically, we have History Club, Science Club, Japanese Culture Club, and Arts Award too.
Furthermore, for those facing core exams, our extensive after-school booster sessions will run on a daily basis, whilst our Saturday and Holiday School sessions will be targeted at formal exams and important Mock Exam schedules.
Richard Barnett-Richards, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We always emphasise that we are not a school that operates as an exam factory, but more seek to ensure that we provide such breadth that every child can find their area to shine in. Certainly, success in one area, invariably inspires success elsewhere and by giving so many options we look to ensure that there is a domino effect for each child across our curriculum.”
