Spreading our own very special brand of festive cheer, it was Christmas Dinner Day in the canteen this week.

Our dedicated canteen staff were in at the crack of dawn to start prepping veg, cooking turkey and baking cakes ready for the busiest lunchtime of the year. Students were treated to a fantastic, traditional Christmas dinner with all the usual trimmings such as ‘pigs in blankets’ and cranberry sauce. Lots of students enjoyed sitting with their friends, pulling crackers and telling each other the jokes within. Party hats were worn and the atmosphere all around was light hearted and fun.

During second sitting, Key Stage 3 were treated to Christmas songs performed by Mr Hood and the staff choir. Students crowded round to watch with one or two even deciding to join in. They really appreciated their lunch time entertainment.

In true Christmas style, it will be turkey baps for the rest of the week!

Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “It has been great to see Christmas dinner go down so well today. Our canteen staff have worked so hard to prepare a fantastic meal for our students. Seeing the children sit together to eat and chat before the holiday has been a great festive event for all”.
