As part of our commitment to celebrating and informing our student about the environment around them, we celebrated National Tree Week to reflect on the impact of trees both locally and globally.
There were special assemblies and tutor time activities to address the week and students entered competitions which asked them to reflect on the trees in their locale, as well as ponder the trees across the planet which help fill out family shopping baskets.
Elsewhere, our Independent Learning House Competition saw competing teams from each of our four Houses research the topic of trees before coming on to fight for the termly title of champions for their House.
Richard Barnett-Richards, Assistant Headteacher said: “We are putting a big emphasis in our focus weeks this year on the environment and climate around us so National Tree Week was a great way to get key messages across. There was a lot of fun through he week but behind this were serious messages which our students took on board.”
