Our school carol concert saw plenty of students, parents and wider families celebrating the festive period alongside the Mayor of Lichfield, Jamie Checkland.
The service included all the classic Christmas carols – from ‘Hark the Herald Angels’ to ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ – but the real show-stealers were the various choirs, bands and of course our orchestra who played a range of recitals.
There were also a string of readings by students and staff, whilst the service was led by Canon Andrew Stead, a familiar and friendly face to anyone in our school.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “This is an important event on the school calendar and it is fantastic to have such a wonderful venue to celebrate the season and to offer our students an incredible location to perform. Certainly, whether it be the Carol Concert or our Year 7 Dedication Service, the spirituality, formality and yet the familiarity we feel towards our city’s cathedral is a key component of our school’s ethos and our children’s development.”
