A great performance from the Year 10 boys football team saw them run out 3-0 winners against Lichfield Cathedral school.
Brendan Atkinson scored a great header just outside the 6 yard box to get us off the mark in the game following a few good chances.
Another opportunity came for us soon after from the penalty spot. Stepping up was captain Josh Evans who unfortunately missed from the spot.
The boys kept playing some excellent build up play and created many chances. Josh made up for the penalty miss with a great shot into the top corner to make it 2-0 with 25 minutes to play, Billy Barlow came on and made an instant impact chipping the goalkeeper to round off a solid home performance and 3-0.
Jamie Sleigh, PE teacher and team coach, said: “I’ve taken this team since Year 7, and it’s been great to see the progression they have made. Not only a great team but excellent students who help prepare the team and ensure all is set up ready to go. We take a break from football now and look forward to more fixtures after February half-term.”
