Our Performing Arts students were taken to see ‘A Christmas Carol’ performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon Avon.
The Christmas shows are renowned nationally as being of fantastic quality and the students thoroughly enjoyed seeing outstanding performers on the stage, an amazing setting and related effects, and they could use this experience to critique and enhance here own work.
Equally, those students in Year 11 were in a prime position to re-visit one of their core texts for their GCSE English Literature exams in Summer 2023.
Harriet Bates, Drama teacher and event organiser, said: “We are fortunate to have one of the UK’s prime theatres so close by and this is wonderful opportunity to open our students’ eyes to exceptional talents preforming a story they are already well familiar with. We are looking forward to seeing this experience impact on the students’ performing arts work in the run-up to final exams.”
