Last week saw Darwin House celebrate their annual House Week where they continued to show support by raising vital funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

There were a variety of events which occurred over the week from cake sales to competing against a teacher ‘tug of war’ competition. The week was a fantastic success as students worked together as a House to raise a target of £1,000.

A special mention must go to Isabelle Webb (House Vice-Captain), Benji Birch (Charity Captain) and Starlla Carr (Charity Captain) who planned a lot of the ideas for the House charity week and gave up a lot of their free time to make it a success.

As the House week draws to a close, the fundraising doesn’t. Head of House, Alex Britton, has decided to take part in the Manchester Marathon in April where all the money raised will be donated to the Acorns Children’s Hospice. Alex Britton, Head of Darwin House, said: “I am honoured that we can fundraise for this charity and raise money for such a good cause. It is amazing to see our students and their families willing to go out of their way to help donate. A huge thank you to all the students.”
