Our Y10 girls netball team saw two victories in a double-header fixture involving The Hart School, Nether Stowe, and ourselves.
Starting against Nether Stowe, the girls settled in well and the game was end to end. Lots of interceptions and excellent marking from Abigail Illonzeh saw us keep the score level.
In the second half, we found our flow and took away the lead. We held off some excellent come backs from Nether Stowe and secured a 15-11 win.
The Hart, with fresh legs, started well and we fell behind very quickly and the score drifted to 5-0. However, excellent resilience and team-work worked the ball into our attacking area and we caught up quickly. Accurate shooting from Gabriella Cole-Pearce enabled us to take the lead. Good tactical work centre court enabled us to keep the advantage and we secured our second win of the evening with a 11-9 victory.
Hollie Wright, PE teacher and team, coach, said: “The girls were fantastic throughout and all sides played some great netball. We have fixtures most evenings at the moment and it is great to see both boys and girls performing as well as they demonstrate in lessons and training.”
