The girls kicked off their season with an away match versus local rivals, King Edwards.
With a team consisting of a few new players, we decided to go in with a game plan: “What can we learn from the match?”.
The girls fought continually, making great interceptions, and snatching the possession of the ball, and though the game ended in defeat the game plan was achieved. We had lots to celebrate and some things to work on.
So what did we learn? Well, key pointers were the jump for rebounds, to stand on the inside for centre passes, to pass into space, to keep moving into space, and we got to grips with some new rules too.
Hollie Wright, PE teacher and team coach, said: “We were very proud of the girls’ efforts and can’t wait to see how the rest of the season will turn out.”
