Our Sixth Form Open Evening was very busy and we had hundreds of budding Sixth Form students checking out the school offer and working out what the best options were for September 2023.
The evening included a talk by our Headteacher, opportunities to talk to all subject staff about courses and suitability, as well as student subject ambassadors who could relay their experiences in studying the specific courses.
Elsewhere we had a range of guests in to add to the wider picture of career progression, with Higher Education represented by both Birmingham University and Staffordshire University, as well as apprenticeship providers including Balfour Beatty.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We believe we offer a very distinct offer as a Sixth Form Centre with a focus on knowing our students, tailoring our support and interventions, and embedding a culture which helps breed success, enthusiasm and a sense of fun. Even so, the most important goal of this evening is not to get students signing up with us, but more to ensure they work out what destination best suits them to move forward. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that a good few who attended like what we offer and come on board.”
