As part of our Focus Week on the theme of Black History Month, the House Debating Competition this week saw the Year 12s debate on the topic: ‘The British justice system is inherently racist.’
The debates were judged by our School Librarian Helena Cresswell, Greywood Trustee Gill Stockdale and School Governor Lyse Edwards.
Seward House won the debate with their team of Jacob Housley, Louis Cope, Aisha Ratnasabapathy and Sam Piper.
There were some strong contenders for Most Valuable Debater and after some deliberation Sam Piper and Tom Purkis were chosen. Both boys provided very strong arguments to support their case.
Helena Cresswell, school librarian, said: “The debates were great to watch and there were some fantastic skills demonstrated.”
