Global Handwashing Day is held annually on 15 October and is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
It has been around for much longer than COVID but we have all become much more aware of the importance of hand-washing through the pandemic.
We have been flagging this day up around our school and remind our students that good personal hygiene helps keep everyone safe and well.
Stacey Walsh, Assistant headteacher said; “We are entering the time of coughs, sneezes, and flu, and so it is a good time to remind our students of how they need to approach the spread of germs and infection.”
