The Friary defeated Nether Stowe 3-1 in a derby fixture.
The Friary started the game strong, a great run and pass through from Ollie Fisher saw Alfie Mitchell in on goal and he slotted the ball home to make it 1-0 after 3 minutes.
After 15 minutes, Ollie Fisher put Friary 2-0 up after a great cross from Stan Peckham. Friary continued to put pressure on the Nether Stowe defence, and some hard work from Evan Wynne saw him set up Alfie Mitchell for his second of the game which put Friary 3-0 up just before half time.
A quiet second half saw minimal chances for both teams though Nether Stowe scored one shortly before the final whistle.
Jamie Sleigh, Head of House and team coach, said: “It’s great to see so many of our GCSE PE and Cambridge National Sport students involved in a competitive game this evening. After losing last week to King Edwards, they reacted well to improve on their individual and team performance. Many working hard in the classroom on coursework and exam content.”
