The Friary’s Under 14’s girls (Years 8 and 9) played a league match against Kingsmead School in Cannock and in an outstanding performance came home with an 8-1 win.

There were individual successes and a great team performance all over. Goals from Aimee Irvine, Imogen Marchesi, Ruby Cliffe, Freya Milligan and Brogan Crawford.

Our Sixth Form Sport Leaders who came to coach and help, Ellie Jones and Amelia Barratt, chose Aimee Meakin as the player of the match. The girls played with passion and great team work and were a credit to the school. Well done all.

Trudi Simkiss, PE teacher and team coach, said: “The girls played fantastically well and got a tremendous result. We’re looking forward to more fixtures and having seen England’s Women’s Team win the Euros this Summer we feel sure we have the latest in the line of stars on the conveyor belt.”
