The District League draw saw us face three home games and our girls got their teeth stuck into some great fixtures.

Starting off against Cheslyn Hay, we took a while to find our stride but luckily our birthday girl goalkeeper, Millie Alcock, kept it all square. We took the lead at the start of the second half, but they quickly fought back and after 2 challenging saves, including a last minute goal, we unfortunately lost 3-2.

Next up, we got ready to face The Hart School, but they were forced to withdraw so we used the opportunity to train and build the cohesion we were missing first game.

In the last of the league game, we faced an unbeaten Codsall. After a bumpy start we started to really press and looked hot to score. Just before half time we took the lead and this helped everyone confidence and from that minute we looked unbeatable. After winning a penalty, the game finished 2-0.

Hollie Wright, PE teacher and team coach, said: “The girls have worked brilliantly throughout the league games. We are awaiting other results to see if we can sneak our way into the next round. In addition we have entered another football league which starts just after half term. We can’t wait to see the success continue and the confidence build.”
