As a school we always encourage reflection and respect when it comes to Remembrance Sunday and as Remembrance Day falls on Friday 11 November, we are taking the opportunity to allow students to wear their uniforms on that day in school.
Consequently, any child in cadets, scouts, guides, St John’s, etc, is welcome to come into school wearing their uniform on Friday 11 November.
Matt Allman, Headteacher said: “Having discussed this with one of our Sixth Formers, Tom Szamek (Y12), I was reminded that we paid respect in this way pre-COVID. I hugely appreciate Tom giving me the head’s up on this one and it is only proves the point that sometimes even a Headteacher needs a nudge in the right direction by the students.”
