The Friary competed in a friendly hockey tournament against Lichfield Cathedral School. It was the first competition of the season and it was a real goal spectacular.
The Friary played against three teams with a total of 9 goals being scored. Even the new star of the tournament, Anand Sihota, got himself on the score sheet but the top striker was Leila Wallis (Y8).
Beyond their showings, player of the tournament was awarded to Jack Wilkes (Y7) for his sheer determination in defence and not giving up despite the score sheet not always being in his favour.
Kim Fallows, team coach, said: “This tournament really made me feel proud to be a PE teacher and hockey coach at the Friary. What a performance and set of skills the teams displayed and it was lovely to see Year 7s getting involved and having fun. Huge thanks to all parents who came to watch and support as it really helped the teams compete.”
