The School Transport Team from Staffordshire County Council, who are responsible for the issues we have all been having with the 818 and 819 school buses, have relayed the following messages as they work towards a solution:

818 Morning Service:

This service will depart 10 minutes early from all points from Monday 3 October. There is no change to afternoon times.

The 818 will be an entirely separate vehicle – so will not be dependent on it finishing another route first – so this should stop the on-going lateness.

819 Morning Service:

This service will continue to depart 15 minutes earlier than previous. It will follow the timetable laid out in our previous news update which is available here.

We can confirm that we are aware that some issues have been caused by driver error but as the familiarity with the route is now less of a problem this should be negated.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “It has been a long four weeks for these problems to run but we are perhaps closer to a solution. We are still pushing for a separate service to Kings Bromley and Hill Ridware – via Handsacre – which would shorten the length of journeys, secure more seats, and reduce the load on the Fradley buses, but at the moment this is not being considered. All parents know to contact student.transport@staffordshire.gov.uk if there are issues and all those who have added their weight to our calls for improvements have been an immense help.”
