We are preparing our students for the world of work by supporting them in taking online professional qualifications through the National College.
The National College is an online provider who offer workplace online courses that ready individuals for work and build up the skill sets that are related to that career..
We have been working with groups of students to undertake professional courses that help them in the pursuit of their careers after leaving education in Year 11.
One such group undertook a Certificate in the Role of a First Aid Appointed Person and all scored passes in the course. The students included Harvey Bull, William Evans, Tom Fairchild, Rory Gwilt, Lewis Lippitt, George Scott, Charlie Walkerdine.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are working on the traditional school qualifications but, for those students looking to enter the workplace through either college or apprenticeship courses, we are looking to give the a head-start on the connections so that they are not only ready for the workplace, but are also skilled up to take on roles which can make them more attractive as a prospective employees or even result in extra salary.”
